Three of the Most Famous Criminal Defense Attorneys of All Time
There are tough criminal defense cases, and then there are tough criminal defense cases. Stacks of evidence that all indicate the defendant is guilty and crowds of witnesses whose testimony is even more incriminating.
Though such cases seem un-winnable, there are criminal defense attorneys out there who can still convince juries that their defendants are innocent. Here are just a few of those criminal defense lawyers who some refer to as miracle workers.
Robert Shapiro.
When celebrities get in trouble, they turn to Robert Shapiro. Not only was he one of O.J. Simpson’s defense attorneys, Shapiro has also defended the likes of the Kardashian family, Darryl Strawberry, and Jose Conseco. Most recently, he was one of Lindsay Lohan’s defense attorneys, though he resigned shortly after due to differences.
Anne Bremner.
Anne Bremner has won every single civil case she’s represented, but is most well known for her defense of Michael Jackson when he was charged with child molestation, and for her representation of Amanda Knox.
Johnnie Cochran.
Johnnie Cochran was not just one of O.J. Simpson’s defense attorneys, he was their leader. He successfully represented the former football star in his acquittal of the murders, and has also successfully represented the likes of such others as Sean “P Diddy” Combs, Tupac Shakur, Michael Jackson, Snoop Dogg, and — most famous of all — Rosa Parks. Besides representing high profile clients and working with high profile cases, Cochran largely worked for victories against police brutality and civil rights. Unfortunately, Cochran died in March 2005 after he struggled with a brain tumor.
